Kristie is an emerging, contemporary artist based in Geelong, Australia, living with her hubby Andrew and three gorgeous chillies (children!)
With a degree in graphic design and 10 years in television at GTV9, it was her time spent in Sydney as a textile designer, where Kristie's passion
for florals and botanicals flourished. Their elegant, delicate beauty and transient nature instill feelings of joy and harmony which translate onto the canvas
with a graceful, contemporary twist.
" If I can illuminate someone's soul with my art, then I am happy. "
Painting intuitively with layers of acrylic paint, and detailed botanical forms, Kristie's art and colour palette are inspired by flowers, nature, interior
trends and the beauty of everyday life.
Growing up in the small country town of Osbornes Flat, Kristie feels most grounded when surrounded by mountains, rivers, lush fields and the
delightful sound of nature and birds. She also loves camping and travelling.. especially to Europe.
A two month holiday to France with her young family was an incredible experience and cherished family time.
It was an overload for the senses and elevated Kristie's love for florals, colour and pattern.
" It was simply stunning. The art, scenery and architecture were magnificent and I fell in love with chinoiserie and French interiors and design."
"I get excited when I paint. I love using the beautiful balance of imagination, colour and pattern and often combine birds and flowers in elegant garden scenes, alluring and captivating. My imagination takes me travelling to far off places and gives me endless inspiration, joy and contentment which I hope to pass onto the viewer. Painting is a therapeutic practice that allows me to dream. Always challenging and pushing myself in new directions, my art evolves
as do the flowers I paint. I love the ebb and flow of the whole process and am learning to trust my intuition and let go of my perfectionism.
My art and colour palette are inspired by the boundless shades of nature, in all it’s forms and by bringing the essence of nature and colour indoors, it can be a mood changer and influence the way people feel. Calming, invigorating, playful or intriguing, by celebrating the connection we have with art, nature and emotion, we can inspire and uplift.
I feel so grateful to be able to do what I love every day whilst connecting with people through my art and my hope is to bring that extra touch of
beauty, grace and joy to you and your cherished spaces. I also wish to inspire my children and embolden everyone to chase their dreams and pursue what
truly makes their hearts sing."
"I dream of painting and then I paint my dream."
